Citrus County Schools Sustains Strong Performance in 2026 School Grades
The Florida Department of Education has released the 2026 District and School Grades, and Citrus County Schools has once again earned a "B" district rating, reflecting the district's continued commitment to academic excellence and student success. The district improved by 3% to maintain its B rating, meeting the higher performance threshold established by the state for this school year.
District and School Grades are calculated annually based on multiple indicators, including student achievement and learning gains on statewide assessments, graduation rates, and the success of students in accelerated coursework. These grades provide families and the community with a clear picture of how schools are performing and supporting student achievement.
This year's results highlight continued momentum across the district, with four schools improving their letter grades while every Citrus County school earned an A, B, or C. The district continues its tradition of having no D or F schools.

“Our district earning a ‘B’ grade is a testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, families, and school leaders,” stated Superintendent, Dr. Scott Hebert. “Maintaining a ‘B’ this year required significant improvement across our schools, making this achievement especially meaningful. It reflects a collective commitment to continuous growth and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. While we are proud of this accomplishment, it represents just one of many successes for Citrus County Schools over the past year. From expanding academic opportunities and strengthening career pathways to celebrating student achievements in the classroom, on the stage, and on the field, our district continues to make meaningful progress in preparing students for bright futures. We remain committed to building on this momentum and pursuing excellence in every school, every classroom, and for every student.”
The Florida Department of Education will publish the official 2026 District and School Grades on its website following final verification of statewide results.
