Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 11, 2026! It’s time for the School House Hustle, a fantastic event benefiting the Citrus County Education Foundation. This foundation provides the mini-grants our teachers use to bring innovative projects into our classrooms.
Last year, Homosassa Elementary took home 2nd Place and a $500 prize—let’s go for 1st this year!

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, registration fees for all students are covered! * Action Required: Fill out the attached form and return it to the front office by this Friday, April 6.

• Note: To ensure our school gets credit for the "Spirit Stick" award, please write Homosassa Elementary on the designated line.

📅 Event Schedule (Saturday, 4/11)

• 7:00 AM: Registration & Packet Pick-up
• 7:30 AM: Mascot Olympics (Come cheer on Splash the Dolphin!)
• 8:00 AM: 10K & 5K Races Begin
• 8:30 AM: 1-Mile Walk with Superintendent Hebert
• 7:00–11:00 AM: Family Health Expo & YMCA Kid Zone

📍 Location & Logistics

• Where: CREST School / Lecanto Complex (2600 S. Panther Pride Dr.)
• Parking: In front of Lecanto High School.
• What to Wear: Your blue school shirt to show your Homosassa spirit!
• What to Bring: A lawn chair (seating is not provided).

Important Reminder: Families must provide their own transportation. Since our teachers will be participating in the races, parents must stay to supervise their children throughout the event.

Mrs. Hatto and Mr. Criss will be walking the 1-mile event, and we would love for our students to join us! Everyone who registers by April 6 receives a t-shirt and a finisher’s medal.
